I am always very pleased to have a Gew98 Mauser instock. They are a total pain to find these days, and it is even more difficult to find them in original condition, and not Turkish reworks. This one is in original configuration, no import marks, so it is likely a bring back. The rifle is all one number, and the bolt is another, but each are matching to themselves. The stock has excellent original color, and it is untouched by sand paper or bubba. There are numerous spots where rust has been cleaned off, and there is scattared fine pitting on both the receiver and the bolt. This also occurs because these were left In-The-White from the factory. The waffenampts on the stock are still clearly visible, and clear. Sorry, no cleaning rod. The bore is the best I've seen on a rifle of this condition, it is clean with excellent rifling, and a fair ammount of shine. If you like mausers, you absolutely have to have a Gew98 in your collection, these are the rifles that started everything!
