This is a flag for the East German KdA. That stands for Kampfgruppe des Arbeitklasse (Combat Group of the Working Class.) This was established during the 1950s after a small revolt following the foiled Hungarian Revolution. It was meant to give the individual East German citizen the oprotunity to particiate in defence.
The flag is large, about 5X8, and it's heavy. It's made from satin, and is embroidered on both sides. It also still has an issue tag in place. This is not a flag meant for flying; it would be used for parade, or other indoor display. |
