At least I think this is for the VDV...
This is similar to what I have seen as being discribed as the soft jump helmet worn by Russian Paratroopers. It is probably from the 50s, however it is similar in construction and appearance to items made during war. None the less it is an interesting item, possibly a summer weight flying helmet also.
